Cali is operated as a web application. We take your privacy seriously and are committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
We collect: (a) account information (name, email) provided via OAuth sign-in; (b) receipt images you upload; (c) extracted receipt data (merchant, amount, date, category); (d) payment information processed by Stripe (we never store card details). We do not collect location data, contacts, or any data beyond what is necessary to provide the service.
Your data is used solely to: provide the receipt capture and export service; process payments via Stripe; improve AI extraction accuracy (anonymised). We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
The app requests access to your device camera and photo library solely to capture receipt images. Images are uploaded securely to our servers and are never shared with third parties. You may revoke camera access at any time in your device settings.
All data is stored on servers located in the European Union. Data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3 and at rest using AES-256. Receipt images are stored in private, access-controlled cloud storage.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may delete individual receipts at any time. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at the address below.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to: access your personal data; rectify inaccurate data; erase your data ('right to be forgotten'); restrict processing; data portability; object to processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us.
We use the following third-party services: Stripe (payment processing, subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy); OpenAI (AI receipt extraction — images are sent to OpenAI's API and subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy). We do not use advertising networks or sell data to data brokers.
We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. No third-party analytics cookies are placed on your device.
Cali is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or in-app notification.
